Prestonpans resident completes prize winning trolley dash in Scotmid

A Prestonpans resident completed a trolley dash around Scotmid on Friday 20 September, after winning the competition when the store was re-launched in July.

Carol Irvine had one minute to run around the Scotmid store on Prestonpans High Street with a trolley and fill it with goodies. She was cheered on by her two grandchildren, Amber and Mackenzie, as she ran around the store.

Carol Irvine said: “I couldn’t believe it when I found out I’d won the trolley dash – I’ve never really won anything so it was a nice surprise. Scotmid always has good deals, it’s so handy having the post office and the staff are very nice.”

After completing her trolley dash, Carol said: “It was really exciting and a lot of fun. I managed to get lots of treats, like wine, chocolate, coffee, and some treats for my grandchildren.”

Prestonpans Scotmid was recently re-launched with a modernised design and layout to improve the shopping experience for customers. The product range has been especially selected to ensure customer can find  great value at their new look store. The store has an increased range of products from local Scottish suppliers, including an in-store bakery from Goodfellow & Steven – one of Scotland’s longest established bakers.
