New-look Inverkeithing Store

The doors reopened at the Scotmid store in Inverkeithing on Wednesday (16 October) morning and Head of Food Kevin Plant believes the local community will enjoy the new ultra-modern lay-out and expanded range of products available.

After suffering substantial damage following heavy rainfall in August, the store was temporarily closed and it subsequently underwent a complete transformation.

Now the store has reopened and Kevin Plant believes the patience shown by local members and customers while the work was carried out will be rewarded with an excellent state-of-the-art store with an increased range.

Kevin Plant, Scotmid’s Head of Food, said: “We’d like to thank all our members and customers in Inverkeithing for their patience while this transformation was taking place and we believe it will be well worth the wait because there is now a new state-of-the-art store for the local community.

“We’ve expanded all of our ranges in-store by 40% and we believe our members and customers will be really impressed with the new look and improved offering available.

“We’ve utilised the latest energy efficient technologies with refrigeration and lighting pinpointed as key priorities and the new spacious lay-out will provide an enhanced shopping experience for customers.

“Our Food to Go offering has also expanded with the introduction of a Chicken Wing & Rib Bar with the option to add in further new takeaway lines depending on our customers’ needs.

“The size of the queue when the doors reopened shows such how valuable and important the store is to the area.

“We’re absolutely certain the Inverkeithing community will love their new Scotmid store; we’re delighted to be able to open the doors to our new ultra-modern store.”

Eager customer Irene started queuing at 6.20am – over four hours before the grand opening – and was rewarded by being selected to cut the ribbon and also being picked to win a new TV. Well done Irene.
