Laurencekirk locals turn out for opening of new-look Scotmid store
Locals from Laurencekirk turned out to get the first glimpse of the new-look Scotmid today (25 October 2013), which has re-opened after undergoing a refurbishment to improve the store for customers.
Northsound radio star, Aylissa Boyce, cut the ribbon and welcomed the first customers to the new store with free goody bags.
Laurencekirk Scotmid has been modernised inside and out, with a new spacious layout, a larger range of products and extra customer services.
Some of the key features of the store are a bigger fresh fruit and vegetable section, a new Costa Express machine, a larger chilled section and an extended range of wine and craft beer. Scotmid Laurencekirk has an in-store bakery from Goodfellow & Steven, a fresh bread table, and new wholefood and gluten free product ranges.
Stewart Smith, Store Manager said: “Our store has a fantastic new look, with a high quality range of products and a bigger choice, while still being great value. It’s brighter, more inviting and an easier place to shop in. Our friendly team is looking forward to welcoming the local community to come and experience their new-look Scotmid.”
The new-look Scotmid store is at 106A High Street, Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, AB30 1BJ, and is open from 7am to 10pm seven days a week.
