The Scotmid School Run

“The School Run” is notoriously the phrase given to the daily grind of the journey to school by car. In 2014, as we celebrate Scotland’s year of sport we’re encouraging families across the country to get active and take a real interest in their health and well-being.

On Saturday the 14th June the Queens Baton Relay will arrive in Scotland’s capital on route to Glasgow and the start of the 2014 Commonwealth Games .You and your family have a chance to participate in this small piece of Scottish sporting history by running, jogging or walking 2.2km from Holyrood Palace to Meadowbank Stadium.

At Meadowbank Stadium a “Tryathon” will take place with the opportunity for young people (and not so young people!) to try their hand at 15 Commonwealth Games sports – all under the gaze of sporting greats who will be on hand to provide tips and encouragement. Food, refreshments and entertainment will also be available at Meadowbank Stadium, so make a day of it and celebrate sport for the whole family.

Entry in the Scotmid School Run costs participants £3 for an Adult or Child or £10 for a family of four. ALL entry fees remain with the participants School or Sports Club to reinvest in Sport- So help make a difference in your local community by entering the School Run today!
