The Fragrance House Opens Creating Seven New Jobs
17/11/2009
The Fragrance House, a new business venture from Scotmid Co-operative Society, was launched in Dundee’s Overgate Centre today creating seven new jobs.
Scotmid already owns Semichem, the high street’s leading discount health & beauty chain. It is hoping that the new store, which sells well known prestige fragrance brands such as Guerlain, Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier, will be a hit with shoppers.
Miss Scotland 2008 Stephanie Willemse officially opened the 500 sq ft store which will be managed by Lisa Mitchell.
Paula Butler, Director of Buying & Marketing for Semichem, said, “Semichem is already a success with shoppers and one of our strongest categories is fragrance, making The Fragrance House a natural development for us. Along with our Livingston store which we opened last month, this is the beginning of The Fragrance House. These two stores will be closely monitored before deciding whether to open more Fragrance House stores in other shopping centres around Scotland.”
Karen Stewart, general manager of Overgate added: "We are delighted Fragrance House is opening a new store at Overgate. The store will complement our already impressive retail offering and as it is opening just in time for Christmas it will be a popular choice with our customers."
