The Fragrance House Opens Creating Seven New Jobs
16/10/2009
The Fragrance House, a new business venture from Scotmid Co-operative Society, was launched in Livingston’s The Centre today creating seven new jobs.
Scotmid already owns Semichem, the high street’s leading discount health & beauty chain. It is hoping that the new store, which sells well known prestige fragrance brands such as Guerlain, Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier, will be a hit with shoppers.
West Lothian Provost Tom Kerr officially opened the store. He commented: "I am delighted to be opening the first ever Fragrance House which brings with it seven new jobs. I welcome new business to Livingston, especially during the current recession, and wish the venture every success."
Paula Butler, Director of Buying & Marketing for Semichem, said, "Semichem is already a success with shoppers and one of our strongest categories is fragrance, making The Fragrance House a natural development for us. This is the beginning of The Fragrance House and another store will open soon in Dundee. These two stores will be closely monitored before deciding whether to open more Fragrance House stores in other shopping centres around Scotland."
