CETS Education
Formed as a vehicle to bring together the whole Co-operative Movement across Scotland in an effort to mainstream co-operation into the curriculum. Funded initially by Co-operative Action, Co-op Group and Scottish Executive money. CETS has a project manager and the Board comprises of representatives from Abcul, CMS (Co-operative Mutuality Scotland), Scotmid Co-op, Lothian Borders & Angus Co-op and SAOS.
A funded pilot project has been set up initially for 23 months. The pilot's aim is to trial co-operative teaching resources in four local authority areas (Edinburgh, Stirling, East Ayrshire and Borders) with the other local authorities being included from August 2007.
This pilot is due to end in July 2007. However, forward funding has been secured from the Co-operative Fund, Scotmid, Co-operative Scotland and the Scottish Executive. This funding will allow for new staff to be recruited and new teaching materials to be produced. This will then encompass all unitary authorities.
