5 a day - eat more fruit & vegetables
At the Co-operative, our aim is to be the number one retailer in educating on, raising awareness of and generally promoting diet and health issues to the wider community.
It is recommended that adults eat at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables each day. This may help to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and is based on World Health Organisation and the Committee on Medical Aspects of Food & Nutrition Policy recommendations.

The Department of Health also recommend eating at least 5 portions a day as part of a healthy balanced diet. Children should also try and eat 5 portions of different fruit and vegetables a day but in smaller quantities than adults.
Introducing children to a wide variety of different fruit and vegetables can help set up good eating habits early on, which will help protect health in later life.
